Our Mission
Our mission is simple: to make sure the words that matter most - the encouragement, the apology, the “I love you,” the story only you can tell - arrive when they're needed, not too late.
Why we exist
Almost everyone, at some point, ends up wishing for one more message from someone they've lost - a letter, a voice, a few honest sentences that could have changed an hour, a year, or a life. WordsLater was born out of exactly that wish, and the quiet realisation that the message doesn't have to wait until it's too late. It can be written now, held carefully, and delivered when it will mean the most.
We're not building a social network or a content platform. We're building a small, dependable place to leave the words you want the future to receive - from you, in your own voice, exactly as you wrote them.
What we're working toward
Words that arrive on time
A message delivered on the right birthday, the right anniversary, or the right hard day is worth more than a hundred said in passing. Timing is part of the gift.
Privacy that's real, not marketing
Your messages are encrypted, never sold, never used to train AI, and never read by us. What you write stays between you and the person it's meant for.
A service built for the long haul
Some messages need to wait decades. We're designing WordsLater - and funding it - so that it can still be here, quietly delivering, long after we are.
Care for hard moments
Grief, illness, distance, change - the moments we serve aren't ordinary. The tone, the design, and the support around them shouldn't be ordinary either.
The promises behind the mission
- Your words belong to you. You can edit, postpone, or delete any scheduled message at any time before it's delivered.
- We will not sell, rent, or share the content of your messages with advertisers, data brokers, or AI training datasets - ever.
- Posthumous delivery happens only after a careful, multi-step verification involving the trusted contacts you choose.
- Pricing stays honest: no dark patterns, no surprise renewals, no upcharging the people we're meant to be helping.
- If we ever need to wind the service down, we will give long notice and return every message we are holding for you.
Who this is for
This is for the parent writing to a child not yet born, and the grandparent leaving birthday notes for the next forty years. For the person at the end of a long illness who wants to leave something steady behind. For the friend who finally wants to say the thing they've been carrying for a decade. For anyone who has ever wished they still had one more letter from someone they loved.
If that sounds like you, you're who we're building this for.
