Words for the moments that matter.

Birthdays. First days. Goodbyes. The big speeches and the small reminders that you were loved — sent on the day it needs to land.

How It Works

From "I want to write this" to "they got it."

Three steps. The first one takes about five minutes. The last one might happen in fifty years.

1

Write or record

Type a letter, record a voice note, film a video, or attach a photo. We save it the moment you're done. No "publish" anxiety — only you see your drafts.

2

Pick a delivery date

Choose a specific date, an age (Emma turns 21), a milestone (their wedding), an event, or "after I'm verified gone." Time zones handled automatically.

3

We deliver, on time

When the day comes, your message goes out by email, text, voice, or video — the way you chose. You get a confirmation. The recipient gets your words.

Four ways to be heard.

Different moments call for different formats. Pick the one that feels right — or send the same message across more than one.

About the messages that arrive after you're gone

We know this is the part people are nervous to talk about. So we'll be straight with you: posthumous delivery is a real feature, and we built it carefully.

You name people you trust. Two of them have to confirm your passing. Then we wait fourteen days — a built-in safety window in case anyone got it wrong. Only then do your final messages go out. Until that moment, no one sees them. Not your trusted contacts, not us.

FAQ

The questions people ask most.

What if WordsLater shuts down?

A portion of every paid plan goes into a long-term delivery reserve. If we ever wind down, that reserve funds the continued delivery of your scheduled messages. Read the details.

How do you actually know when I die?

You name trusted contacts. When the time comes, two of them confirm independently. We wait fourteen days as a safety window. Only then do final messages send. See the full process.

Can someone read my messages before they're sent?

No. Scheduled messages are stored encrypted. The secure vault uses zero-knowledge encryption — even our team can't read the contents. Privacy details.

What does "up to 75 years" mean?

It's the delivery window. You can schedule a message to arrive as far as 75 years in the future. Most customers schedule somewhere between 1 and 30 years out.

Is there a subscription?

No. Every paid plan is a one-time message pack. You buy a pack, you get those messages forever. Add more whenever you want and the packs stack.

What kinds of messages can I send?

Email, text message (SMS), voice note, video, and physical USPS letters. You can also attach photos and documents. Every plan includes scheduled email; the rest are available as add-ons, with generous credits bundled on Family, Legacy, and Lifetime plans. See all features.

What if I outgrow my pack?

Add an extra message for $2.99, or buy another pack and stack it. Already-scheduled messages stay exactly as you set them up.

Can I change a scheduled message later?

Yes. Until the moment it's sent, you can edit it, reschedule it, or delete it. After it's sent, it's out of our hands — just like any email.
