Messages from Parents to Children
Be there - at five, fifteen, fifty.
The hardest part of parenting is that we only ever know the version of our child standing in front of us today. WordsLater lets you speak to every version still to come - the kindergartener, the teenager, the new parent, the grown-up calling on Sunday. Write the letters once, and let them arrive exactly when your child needs to hear them.

Frequently Asked Questions
What if I want to update a letter as my child grows?
You can edit any unsent letter anytime. Many parents revisit their long-range messages each year and add a paragraph - small updates that keep the letter honest to who you are now.
Does my child need a WordsLater account?
No. Letters arrive by email or SMS - no app or account required. For very young children, schedule delivery to a parent's address until your child has their own.
Can I include photos, videos, or audio?
Yes - and many parents say a short video of themselves at the age they wrote the letter is the most precious part. See the full list on our Features page.
What happens to scheduled letters if I pass away?
Letters you've already scheduled keep arriving on schedule. You can also add posthumous-only letters that will only be released after our verification process confirms you've passed. Read more on our Posthumous Delivery page.
How far ahead can I schedule a letter?
Up to 75 years out on every paid plan - long enough to cover the entire arc of childhood and adulthood, from preschool birthdays to your grandchildren's weddings.
What if their email or phone number changes?
You can update recipient details anytime. For long-range letters, we'll send you periodic reminders to confirm contact info is still current.
Can I write one letter and have it go to all my children?
Yes - and you can also write individual letters addressed to each child separately. Many parents do both: a single family letter plus a personal letter for each.
Should I tell my child about WordsLater while they're young?
Up to you. Some parents keep it a surprise; others say "I've written you letters that will arrive each year" and let the anticipation be part of the gift. Both work.
